The shots we got are unlike any shots I've ever taken. Each one is specific beyond the general "type" or "look" I was going for. Having been a film producer for 7 years, I've seen thousands of actor headshots, and these shots are some of the most precise, specific, and professional I've seen. I used one of the headshots from the shoot to submit to colleges and I would like to think that professionalism in my portfolio is what put me in the next level of student theatre applicants. I had such a wonderful time working with Geoffrey. I suppose the only downside to the whole process is having to choose a few photos from the hundreds of fabulous ones.

He perfectly executed EVERYTHING - from communication, to planning, to organizing costumes, hair and makeup, and the location - he did an incredible job, and I feel lucky to have seen a master who takes his art seriously and personally in action. Taking the photos was the most easygoing, enjoyable experiences I've ever had. He knew what he wanted, he talked us through when we weren't quite portraying the right emotion, and then he captured the most beautiful photos I've ever seen myself in. I'm downright in awe, and recommend him to anyone who wants to look at themselves and say, "wow. I AM good looking!"

Before jumping into the shoot, he sits down with you and takes a bit of time to just chat and get to know one another. Behind the camera, he gives very clear direction and has a really calming, mellow vibe. We ended up having a lot of fun and honestly, the only hard part was combing through all the great shots to pick the best ones. He doesn't miss!

When we pursue any career in the city of LA many times we forget to help those starting out or restarting. pon deciding to focus once again on juggling an acting career in with my other work, I had begun to look for a photographer. I have known Geoffrey Donne for the better part of 20 years. He is an amazingly talented guy - an accomplished actor and director himself - he is able to channel those impressive skill sets to his photography in a way that is rare among the throngs of headshot photographers in this industry. The most impressive thing to me was that he captured ME... not me the actor, not me playing at something... but ME... my essence - the thoughts, the emotions, the life behind the eyes. He directed in a way that allowed me to be natural, and comfortable, and that shows in the photos. He takes his time, never rushes you and consistently strives to make sure that you are bringing out your best. And it's real...that's what is so impressive to me. I can look at those pictures (and I'm hard on myself) and say... that is me.. Not just what I look like... but who I AM.. .whether we were gearing the shots toward the world weary detective, the everyman or guy next store or the guy who could snap at any moment... Geoffrey just had a subtle but VERY effective way of bringing that out in me and having it translate in spades to the picture. My manager loves the pictures and within just a couple of days of getting the shots, I had already booked 3 auditions. The only bad thing about a photo shoot with Geoffrey Donne is that you'll have a hard time picking which ones to use because you will have an wealth of choices.

Brimming with enthusiasm, joie de vivre and a wicked sense of humor, the first thing you understand is that you are in the safe hands of a dedicated professional with an abundance of creativity and a very keen eye. It's a rare thing to find a photographer who sees the best you and is able to capture that and make it fun at the same time. He showed me the first few shots and it was obvious he knew what he was about - from there on, it was easy to relax and take whatever direction he gave, because I just knew we were going to end up with amazing shots. We ended up with at least 12 brilliant shots, all of them capturing different aspects of my personality. Within 1 week, I'd bagged filmwork with the BBC. You be the judge! I think this man may just be borderline genius and I'd strongly recommend you book him now, because it won't be too long before he's going to be booked up for months in advance.

The pictures I took with Geoffrey are pictures I have waited 29 years to see - me, all of me, presented to the viewer without artifice, schmaltz, or rigidity. I have paid hundreds of dollars and spent at least six days of my life trying to get just one of these pictures, and Geoffrey was able to give me too many astounding options to choose from in one afternoon. In addition to taking the pictures, providing his own extremely practical insight, and making the experience easy and fun, Geoffrey also provides expert retouching and digital copies of everything, rendering my choice of which unbelievably good headshot to use even more difficult. As an actor, I cannot recommend Geoffrey highly, profusely, or pragmatically enough. Headshots with Geoffrey Donne Photography are not only one of the soundest investments in my career, they have have also been one of the most exciting and energizing experiences in my artistic life.
